Usually, and it adds several minutes without adding any food. A dog that empties a bowl in nine seconds is not enjoying it, and eating that fast brings its own problems — bloating, vomiting, and the begging that starts again immediately because the meal barely registered.

The right maze depends on the size of the nose working it, which is why there are a few shapes here rather than one. There is also an automatic feeder with a water dispenser, for households where mealtimes and work hours do not line up.
